I enjoy attending the Somerset Dairy Princess program every year - especially because my niece and two nephews are a part of it. Being a dairy farmer is not an easy job - it means being tied down to a farm and it means missing out on activities at times because the cows need milked, but it is a wonderful way of life and a wonderful way to raise a family. It is a way of life where dad's teach their little boys and girls to help with the farm chores and little boys love to go for rides with their dad's on the tractors. I am thankful that my brother-in-law and sister have chosen this way to live their lives and it is wonderful to see so many in Somerset County passing on this lifestyle to the next generation. It is an honor for me to be a small part of the annual program celebrating dairy farming.
